Wanted: Best Friend

As you may have noticed by the title, I am looking for a best friend, not just any plain old one, but one who fits my ideals. First of all you must know how to have fun, but know when to be serious. I'd prefer you to be a little on the quiet side, but whatever works. You must be trust worthy and be able to hold to your end of the deal. When it comes to sleeping, peace and quiet is nice, so of course no snoring and or sleep walking. If you fit these points, and want to be my friend, give me a call and I'll try you out.

Life as a Door

The life I live, a quiet one indeed. There's very little moving except for a gentle swing, or even a painful slam. No one ever says sorry though, they just open me up and walk right through me as if I wasn't even there. I don't mind though, you get used to the bumps and bruises, the cuts and scars. You begin to realize how useful that you truly are, how you let people in and out, protect them from the weather, or even protect them from others. Life as a door, is pretty great, helping others like that.

Enthusiasm

A want, a want to do something, almost excited for it. Now where is the enthusiasm though to learn, where did it go?. Being younger, school and even learning was fun to most. You could easily be enthusiastic for school to start again. As a younger kid though, that's all we knew, wake up and go to school, a new world to us. Now as teenagers, being able to drive brings new boundaries to us, we can go almost anywhere alone. We view school as just a waste of time, knowing we could be on the road somewhere else to have fun. Their is a few stragglers that still enjoy it, and even some classes still bring enthusiasm to me. Except those are usually electives that i chose, i have a want to learn about those topics. Unlike core classes, where we are forced to learn a subject that might not particularly interest us.

The Courageous Act

Courage, a word often miss used. It can apply to many things though. It usually implies to the act of putting your life on the line to help others, but that is not all. Courage is about getting yourself ready to do something you were almost afraid to do before, almost energizing yourself up for it. In experiences like mine, you build up the courage to do something, just to prove to yourself that you can do it. I was 8, sitting on the snow, covered mountain. The peak to be specific. Staring down the double black diamond that i had not attempted before. I sat there nervously, telling myself i could, just reassuring myself that i would be fine. i let the adrenaline build up until i finally i had the courage to go, and i just took off without a second thought.
